Here is the description they have on the Pepsi Refresh Project-

The Psychiatric Service Dog Society is committed to assisting wounded warriors & veterans in their efforts to train a Psychiatric Service Dog for the management of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. These skilled dogs are changing veterans’ lives in profound ways. Some veterans refer to their service dog as a ‘Suicide Prevention Dog’.

The proposed four-day retreat will be held in Washington, DC, in June 2011. We will offer veteran attendees informative workshops on psychiatric service dog training, group outings to public monuments including the Vietnam Memorial (i.e., the Wall), canine good citizen and public access testing for those who are up to the challenge, and plenty of good food and relaxation for veterans and their psychiatric service dogs.

The focus of the retreat is on community-building, wellness principles, and how a deep bond with one’s psychiatric service dog can translate into fewer mental health symptoms and reduced medication usage.”
